Lots going on. Lots to catch up on. Reading backlog of blogs and tatting like a madwoman. Longer post coming soon with various stories of the past few months, but this is what I am up to right this minute.
Oh, and I tried tatting with embroidery floss tonight, at least I think that's what it is. It came in a bag of thread from one of my quilting friends. I don't know who made it because it has no label, but it's pretty interesting, very shiny and slippery.
That makes tatting with 30, 10, and whatever this stuff is in one day.
Tally ho!
Been wondering where you were. Glad to see you are still around! :)
ReplyDeleteStill here, still tatting, hoping to make a tollway meeting one of these days. I have been double booked for the last few. Maybe next time. I miss you gals!
DeleteThat looks suspiciously like the ball of rayon crochet thread I got from my Gramma -- but mine was yellow. I'm impressed you could tat with it. I tried and none of the knots would stay knotted! Really. The double stitches just undid themselves. I gave it up and put the ball of thread in with the crochet supplies.
ReplyDeleteI have found that I have to stay on top of it or they slide a bit, but I tat pretty tight so they don't move too much. I managed to make a cross out of a shaded tan version. Interesting feel to it though. I'll post a picture after I get through this market. I may use the rest of the spools for flower hair pins.
