Remembrance Ring

Finally finished Marilee Rockley's Remembrance ring. This one will go to a friend in Indianapolis. Next an anklet and then a ring for myself. This makes #7 in the motif challenge (I'm counting the 32 butterflies as one motif). At this point I have three requests and a bunch of stuff I just want to make. I am getting better with using bobbin shuttles (thank you, Sue Anna) so between those and my blinged clovers from Diane (thank you) I am able to have more than one thing going at a time.

On bobbin shuttles, I was given an aerlit and a pop-a-bobbin. I find they are easier to use with size 20 or smaller. I had to adjust my grip on the pop because the center post dropped out occasionally. Complete user error. I liked the feel of them once I adjusted to them. I used them to tat the Remembrance rings.

That's all I have for now, it seems I am all choppy sentences tonight. Hopefully something new and interesting next post.

  1. Nice, and looks pretty simple/easy to make. I wished my hands looked good enough to wear one. Oh heck, maybe one day...

  2. That is a wonderful ring! Did you stiffen it, or leave it soft? I can see where it would make a great gift!

  3. Thanks, Barbara and Diane! I didn't stiffen it since my friend is a pianist. Flexible works better for her. It also has to survive mailing to Indy.

  4. Your ring looks very nice!! Sounds like you are going to be busy tatting for quite some time with that list you have for yourself(me too!)!! Oh, having many projects going at the same time can be ok for some, but it can also mean frustration when you aren't getting them finished. :D Have an awesome day!! :)
